Urologic Oncology RN Navigator | Urology - Medical Plaza | Gainesville

Overview

This position will serve as a urologic oncology patient navigator that will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team of physicians, allied health providers and administrative support to optimize care and create and implement quality metrics for urologic oncology patients. Primary duties include communications with patients, referring physicians as well as external radiology and pathology departments. Registered nurse will possess knowledge and skills to provide care to patients in an ambulatory setting. Will provide clinical nursing assessment, act as patient care advocate, and provide support, counseling, and education to patients. Works in collaboration with other health care providers and ancillary services. Directs clinical staff and maintains mandatory regulatory institutional policy and procedures under the direction of manager/medical director.
Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Five years of clinical experience as an RN with one year of supervisory experience preferred. Experience as an oncology patient navigator, experience in a specific organ site group, and/or at least two years working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary cancer program preferred. Current licensure by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse. OCN certification is preferred. If not OCN certified, will attain certification within 24 months of employment (financial support provided). Person should display initiative, has the ability to be multitasking and be able to take on responsibilities. Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member is essential. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: none indicated Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure by the State Florida as a Registered Nurse. Basic Life support certification required or obtained at first opportunity with employment.
