WEEKDAY ON CALL Caregiver

$14 - $17 / hour

On-Call Policy

Purpose of the On-Call Position:

The purpose of the on-call position is to assist the agency with last minute staffing needs. This is accomplished by paying a qualified caregiver to be ready to pick-up last-minute assignments at any time, for a full week. The on-call person will be provided with a company vehicle and gas card for agency assignments.

What does On-Call pay?

· $14.00 MINIMUM per hourly shift, while on-call.

· Incentive for guarantee of a minimum of 40 hours per week.

· Live-In shifts pay at an hourly rate of $9.00/hour

What are my duties?

· Be available to take any assignment 24 hours a day for the full five days, Monday through Friday while you are on-call.

· Attend scheduled staff meetings.

· Take all precautions and practice safe driving techniques while operating a company vehicle. Always return vehicle to the office upon conclusion of scheduled shift. If shift ends after business hours, we require the key be placed in the drop box and the vehicle to be locked and emptied of all personal items.

· May be responsible for providing Orientation paperwork to New Caregivers

· May be esponsible for initial home visit between new caregivers and clients as needed.

· Be prepared to take on any of the following assignments for which you are qualified:

o All duties outlined in the Homemaker/Companion job description.

o All duties outlined in the Home Care Aid/Caregiver job description.

o Supervisory visits (wellness visits) to clients’ homes.

o Delivering/returning information or paperwork to/from clients’ homes.

o Assisting the administrative staff with office work as needed.

o Any other general assistance tasks needed by the agency.

What else do I need to know?

· An on-call shift is from Monday morning 8:00am through Friday night 8:00pm.

· If you turn down or are unreachable for an on-call assignment while you are on duty, we will re-evaluate the status of the position upon discussion of events pertaining to the absence/refusal and you will forfeit your on-call incentive pay. If a shift is refused, you will only be paid at the agreed upon hourly rate for confirmed service hours worked.

· You are required to report to your assignment in a timely manner as determined by the office when assigning you to the case. Calls from the office must be returned within 15 minutes.

· The guarantee is for 40 hours a week. This guarantee is not $14/hour AND the incentive.

Example 1: You are scheduled for a 16hour work week in the field. You are still paid for 40, which is a gross pay of $560.

Example 2: You are scheduled for a 45hour work week in the field. Your gross pay will be $665.00.
