As a Registered Nurse on the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum Unit at Novant Health Ballantyne Medical Center, you'll provide compassionate, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns throughout one of life's most meaningful journeys. From supporting patients during labor and delivery to caring for families during the postpartum recovery period, you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes for both mother and baby.
In this dynamic environment, you'll care for patients with a variety of obstetric and postpartum needs, including labor management, induction of labor, cesarean section recovery, postpartum recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding support, and maternal and fetal monitoring. You'll collaborate closely with obstetricians, certified nurse midwives, anesthesiologists, neonatal teams, lactation consultants, and other interdisciplinary team members to deliver exceptional family-centered care.

What You'll Do
The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
- If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course. - Experience: One year of acute nursing experience required.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
