Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our inpatient rehabilitation unit, you’ll provide direct patient care and serve as a key member of both the nursing and interdisciplinary teams.

 

You’ll apply the nursing process—systematically assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care—to help restore and maintain each patient’s physical and psychological health, while supporting their personal goals. You’ll also serve as an educator to patients, families, and fellow team members, promoting understanding and empowerment throughout the recovery journey.

By engaging with patients and families, you’ll help them recover and discover their new normal after a life-altering event. Qualifications

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse required.
  • BSN or enrollment in BSN program preferred.
  • Certified BLS completion and maintenance required; for new hires, see CPR Requirement Guidelines for New Hires.
  • Previous rehabilitation or hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Training: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. One year psychiatric / neuropsychiatric experience with adolescents and / or young adults in a long-term hospital or residential setting preferred. Experience: One (1) year of experience related to the supervision of related swimming activities and safety in and around pools. Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness, preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current Texas professional Nurse License Current driver license. Knowledge and Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills. Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information. Demonstrate effective organization. Develop and implement patient care services within discipline. Consistently exhibit mental ability to understand and perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to initiate and implement all phases of the nursing process. Provide safe nursing care. Understand patient rights. Basic supervisory skills.
