Job Summary
Holly Hill Healthcare Center, a 75-bed skilled nursing, long-term care, and memory care-focused facility located in Towson, Maryland, is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and service-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as Clinical Manager overseeing our skilled nursing and long-term care units.
The Clinical Manager provides clinical leadership and operational oversight while promoting high-quality, resident-centered care, regulatory compliance, staff accountability, and positive clinical outcomes. This position works closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), nursing leadership, physicians, CNAs/CNA-Is, rehabilitation professionals, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate resident care.
The ideal candidate is a clinically strong RN with demonstrated leadership ability, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a commitment to developing staff and maintaining high standards of nursing practice.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day clinical leadership and oversight for assigned skilled nursing and long-term care units.
Supervise, coach, mentor, and hold nursing staff accountable for quality resident care and adherence to facility standards.
Monitor resident conditions, clinical outcomes, care delivery, and documentation, ensuring appropriate follow-up and escalation of clinical concerns.
Review physician orders, treatment plans, care plans, medication-related concerns, and other clinical matters as appropriate.
Participate in resident admissions, readmissions, transfers, discharges, care planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings.
Ensure accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in accordance with facility requirements and applicable regulations.
Monitor compliance with infection prevention, medication management, falls prevention, skin integrity, wound care, and other quality initiatives.
Identify clinical and operational concerns and escalate significant issues to the DON or appropriate leadership.
Assist with investigations, incident reports, risk management, and corrective action plans as assigned.
Support survey readiness and compliance with applicable federal and Maryland regulations, including CMS and Maryland Department of Health requirements.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, residents, families, CNAs/CNA-Is, rehabilitation professionals, social services, dietary, activities, and other interdisciplinary team members.
Assist with staff education, competency development, performance management, and ongoing clinical training.
Monitor staffing, assignments, workflow, and clinical coverage in collaboration with nursing leadership to support safe and effective resident care.
Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives and other clinical improvement activities.
Serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff and provide leadership support during changes in resident condition and other clinical concerns.
Promote resident rights, dignity, privacy, independence, safety, comfort, and quality of life.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, service excellence, and resident-centered care.
Minimum Qualifications
Current, active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
Minimum of three years of professional nursing experience, preferably including experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or another post-acute healthcare setting.
Prior nursing leadership, supervisory, charge nurse, unit manager, or clinical management experience strongly preferred.
Current CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Working knowledge of nursing standards of practice, clinical documentation, infection prevention, resident rights, and skilled nursing and long-term care regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated ability to assess resident conditions, recognize changes in condition, exercise sound clinical judgment, and appropriately escalate concerns.
Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, mentor, and develop nursing staff.
Proficiency with electronic medical records and clinical documentation systems.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced skilled nursing and long-term care environment.
