The Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care. Responsible for administrative tasks in addition to patient care. The Medical Assistant performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. You will perform computations, and other tasks, and report to the Center Administrator.

The Medical Assistant performs clinical tasks such as:

  • Document patient symptoms in EMR
  • Take and record vital signs
  • Administer injections
  • Perform diagnostic tests
  • Collect specimens and draw blood
  • Sterilize equipment
  • Maintain examination rooms
  • Other tasks as assigned

  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB

Preferred:

  • Certified or Registered – (Arizona, Indiana, and South Carolina candidates require Medical Assistant Certification or Registration)
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.

Measure, document, and report vital signs and other clinical observations. Prepare patients and examination rooms for provider visits. As a Medical Assistant, you will: Prepare patients for examination and treatment by taking patient histories and vital signs Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments for your patients including preparation and maintenance of supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization Give injections, and assist with lab testing and phlebotomy needs Assist physicians in applying splints, dressings, and bandages Assist with transfers and scheduling of follow-up care Coordinate patient physicals and workplace injuries for partner accounts Screen incoming calls for referral to physicians and practitioners Willing to travel/float between all MD Now locations within assigned Area preferred You Should Have: 1+ year of experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred Experience using an EHR system is very helpful Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assisting or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) is helpful The ability to obtain a Federal Breath Alcohol Screening Certificate and Federal Drug Screening Certification within 30 days of start preferred Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Benefits MDNow - Poinciana, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
