Fast Pace Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dermatology Provider (Family Nurse Practitioner/FNP/APRN/Physician Assistant/PA) to join our growing team. Though the practice resides within our urgent care facility, it is a part of our ancillary services team. Your patients are scheduled and your practice’s hours would not be the same as the urgent care clinic.

Responsibilities

In a manner consistent and supportive of our values, the Dermatology Provider is responsible for delivering high quality health care within Fast Pace Health’s scope of services while achieving optimum patient satisfaction. The Provider must be committed to providing high-quality patient care while specializing in medical dermatology with a focus on the medical (80%) and cosmetic (20%) aspects of the field. Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment, be flexible to adapt to new technologies and protocols in a quickly evolving practice setting. They must have the ability to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment and is responsible for providing outstanding patient service within the clinic and through various virtual communication channels while maintaining a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere.

What You Will Do:

Conduct comprehensive skin evaluations to assess the overall health and condition of a patient's skin.
Perform focused examinations to diagnose and monitor specific skin conditions.
Diagnose and manage common dermatological conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, fungal infections, and dermatitis.
Perform skin biopsies to obtain tissue samples for pathological examination. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including skin biopsies, patch tests, and cultures.
Prescribe medications such as topical creams, biologics, oral antibiotics, antifungals, or immunosuppressants.
Administer immunizations for conditions like warts or molluscum contagiosum.
Excise benign skin lesions, moles, and cysts using local anesthesia when necessary.
Suture or close wounds after excisions.
Administer cryotherapy using techniques like liquid nitrogen application.
Drain abscesses and perform incision and drainage procedures.
Insert or remove sutures and staples.
Manage wound care and provide dressing changes for chronic wounds, ulcers, or surgical sites.
Evaluate and diagnose skin cancer.
Collaborate with dermatologists to plan and implement treatment, which may include surgery, radiation therapy, or referrals to oncology specialists.
Educate patients on proper skincare routines, sun protection, and lifestyle modifications.
Counsel patients on the importance of early detection and prevention of skin cancer.
Provide guidance on self-examination for suspicious moles or lesions.
Prescribe and manage medications.
Monitor patients for medication side effects and treatment response.
Administer phototherapy treatments, using narrowband UVB or PUVA therapy as appropriate.
Manage chronic dermatological conditions, including hidradenitis suppurativa, vitiligo, or lichen planus.
Collaborate with other healthcare providers for comprehensive patient care.
Preferred Experience working as a telehealth Clinician
Ability to provide quality care in both clinic and telehealth and meet patient volume goals targeted.
Administer cosmetic injectables. Botox is only injectable currently.
Perform chemical peels and microdermabrasion procedures.
Offer consultation and treatment planning for cosmetic procedures.
Educate patients on skincare routines and product recommendations.

Pediatric Emergency Medicine practitioners need to be prepared to care for medical and surgical patients of variable severity. Practitioners will be expected to obtain a history and perform a physical exam on pediatric patients from newborn to adolescence. Under the supervision of attending physicians, they will exercise critical thinking and develop differentials diagnosis, management plans and deposition for pediatric patients presenting to the pediatric emergency department. Communication with families, consultants, community providers and emergency medicine staff will be expected. The practitioner will also participate in common procedures in pediatric emergency medicine such as suturing, abscess drainage, and splinting of extremity injuries. The clinical expectation is an average of three 12 hour shifts per week which include weekends. Practitioners have the opportunity to participate in weekly fellow conferences as well as journal clubs, procedure workshops and simulation scenarios provided by the division. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assessment of Health Status Performs and documents in the medical record a complete history and physical examination for acute and complex chronically ill patients. Orders and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated. The nurse practitioner may serve as the first responder for both nursing and house staff in the event of patient status changes, orders, and in situations requiring procedural and resuscitative interventions. Assesses for risks associated with the care of the acute and complex chronically ill patient including medication side effects, immobility, impaired nutrition, fluid and electrolyte imbalance, immunocompetence, invasive interventions and diagnostic procedures. Performs and documents complete, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical examination, assessment and plan of care. Provides neonatal healthcare services for critically ill and complex patients.
