DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

  • 32 bed modern ICU equipped with advanced hemodynamic monitoring and state-of-the art continuous renal replacement technology

  • Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2

  • This unit is well-staffed with ancillary support, a specialized STAT RN, multiple nurse educators & coordinators - on each shift!

  • We provide supportive, individualized, and tailored orientation. Our ICU delivers a multimodal orientation program utilizing latest evidence-based online education programs, interactive classroom lectures, and high-fidelity simulation.

  • The only major referral care center and the only Level 1 trauma center and pediatric trauma center in the area.

  • Baystate Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit was awarded the Beacon Award for excellence in critical care by the AACN 8 times since 2004, which is the first year the award was initiated.

SCHEDULE:

  • FULL TIME, NIGHT SHIFT (7P-7A)

  • Every other weekend and rotating holidays

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year inpatient RN experience required.

  • Education: ADN required; BSN preferred.

We offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other recognition programs for our employees. The base pay range shown above considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This base pay range does not include our comprehensive benefits package and any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.

By practicing within this model, we ensure that our practice is consistent across all specialties and that goals are clearly defined. The care that we provide is centered on enhancing the human health experience and supported by the following elements of nursing that align with our leadership behaviors; science, ethics, advocacy and art. We provide care to patients with a wide range of complex, highly acute medical/neuro issues utilizing a variety of advanced technologies and devices including CRRT, monitoring intracranial pressures, brain tissue oxygenation and hemo-dynamic monitoring. Our patient population include but are not limited to; respiratory failure, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver injury/failure, kidney injury/failure, sepsis, drug/alcohol withdrawal, stroke, head/spinal cord trauma and brain hemorrhage.
