Staff Development Coordinator-$5000 Sign-On Bonus
Job Summary:
Premier Healthcare at Harrington House in Walpole, MA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Development Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs designed to ensure our nursing team has the knowledge and skills needed to provide high-quality care to our residents. $45 - $55 HOURLY
Responsibilities:
Participate in the completion of the facility assessment to identify educational needs among staff
Develop and implement training plans addressing regulatory requirements and facility needs
Plan, schedule, conduct, and oversee orientation programs for all personnel
Develop and schedule refresher training as needed
Track attendance and training completion to ensure all required education is received
Review educational content to ensure it reflects current standards of practice and facility policies and procedures
Identify and prioritize educational needs through comprehensive needs assessments
Work closely with the Compliance Officer and other facility leaders to develop effective training plans
Collaborate with department managers to develop competencies required to meet residents' needs
Cooperate with the Administrator to routinely evaluate the effectiveness of the training program
Maintain training records, reports, instructional materials, and speaker qualifications associated with each educational program
Qualifications:
Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or graduation from an approved LPN/RN program
Minimum of two years of experience as an LPN or RN
Eligible to participate in federally funded health care programs
Must meet state requirements for applicable licensure or certifications and have no disciplinary action in effect against a professional license
Extensive knowledge of current standards of practice and rules, regulations, and laws related to the long-term care industry
Ability to effectively teach and communicate this knowledge to others
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to serve as a positive example to others
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
Ability to communicate and interact tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public
Patience, tact, and willingness to work effectively with residents, families, and staff in challenging situations
Ability to appropriately communicate information concerning a resident's condition
Must not pose a threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace
