Registered Nurse RN - Cardiac Cath Lab

Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hour shifts; 30-minute commutable address to facility for On-Call.

Operating within our digital, state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab, you will perform scrub, circulating, and hemodynamic monitoring duties across a comprehensive spectrum of advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures—including coronary interventions, pacemaker and AICD insertions, peripheral arterial treatments, diagnostic angiograms, and advanced FDA-approved electrophysiology treatments for atrial fibrillation. Job Summary and Qualifications

The RN in the Cardiac Cath Lab is responsible for performing either scrubbing duties, documentation of the procedure on the hemodynamic system, and circulating for diagnostic or interventional cardiology/radiology procedures. Responsibilities also include assessing the needs of the patient, providing age specific patient care based on assessment data, current knowledge/skills which include policies and procedures of the department and physician orders. Accepts assignments that coincide with her/his experience, knowledge, and ability.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive patient care from pre-admission through hospitalization and post-discharge using an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Safely administer medications, carry out complex physician treatment orders, and monitor patient clinical reactions through the established chain of command.
  • Educate patients to encourage active care participation while strictly respecting their diverse cultural, psychosocial, spiritual values, and a restraint-free environment.
  • Ensure exact documentation, practice rigorous infection control, and strictly follow all laws, regulations, and hospital policies regarding controlled substances.
  • Participate actively in hospital performance initiatives, champion leadership activities, and support organizational vision to improve overall safety and clinical outcomes.
  • Cultivate teamwork, share specialized knowledge across the interdisciplinary team, and proactively identify personal clinical learning needs to present to management.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
  • Current BLS and ACLS issued from American Heart Association required
  • 1 year of clinical Cardiac Cath Lab experience as a licensed RN in a hospital required.

Job Summary and Qualifications As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." What you will do in this role: Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about any non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and/or other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self-management. What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date) Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS issued from American Heart Association required TNCC within 6 months of hire date 1 year of clinical ER experience as a licensed RN in hospital setting required.
