Our company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our growing team! 

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in executing the goals and objectives of the nursing department in regard to patient/resident rights, patient/resident care and reflects the mission statement of the facility. The ADON serves as a role model to nursing staff while facilitating outcomes-based care delivery, cost management, and enhanced customer satisfaction within the context of an interdisciplinary framework.

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Responsibilities:

  • Assist Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing all nursing functions in our healthcare facility
  • Interpret and execute administrative, nursing and resident/patient care policies
  • Ensure compliance with government and accrediting agency standards and regulations pertaining to Nursing
  • Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with the written policies and procedures established by the department and the facility
  • Meet with staff regularly in planning the clinical services, programs and activities of the department and to identify and correct problem areas and improve services
  • Make reports and recommendations to the DON concerning the activities of the department
  • Collaborate with other departments and disciplines in meeting the residents' needs
  • Actively participate in committees such as QA/PI, Infection Control, Safety, Ethics, Leadership and others
  • Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies
  • Participate in QA/PI programs by providing for the collection and analysis of data for the continuous quality improvement program
  • Responsible for New Hire Training of required mandatories; Works directly with Department Heads to assure that department specific requirements are conducted for new hires.
  • Ensures that annual mandatories are conducted for all staff.

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Qualifications:

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Florida
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Health Administration is preferred
  • Several years of nursing experience in a management role in a healthcare facility
  • Comprehensive knowledge of OBRA, Joint Commission and State Rules and Regulations
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Computer and word processing skills required
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language, knowledge of other languages helpful
  • The ability to deal effectively and professionally with emotional patient/residents, visitors or family members
  • The ability to relate to geriatric, informed and sub-acute population

A Brief Overview The Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) is responsible for leading the shift operations within the clinical setting to ensure delivery of high-quality care, exceptional customer experience, and optimal patient flow. The In-Home Services RN (Registered Nurse) provides skilled nursing care in accordance with InnovAge policies and all applicable regulations to participants and performs related administrative tasks for InnovAge. Physical attendance at an InnovAge facility and/or an InnovAge participant home is essential to performing the job duties. Triages participant and staff phone calls to s to determine priority of care and routes accordingly. Schedules outside appointments for participants when necessary. Assists in the examination, testing and treatment of participants. Completes certification/recertification orders and discharge summaries Implements orders written by primary care physician(s). Instructs participants and family regarding medications and treatment instructions. Schedules specialist and other appointments for participants and assists in hospital admissions. Performs general nursing care on participants including administering prescribed medications and treatments. Documents all necessary information and maintains participant medical record(s) and fulfills agency charting and reporting requirements. Administers medications, provides training in self-administration of all non-scheduled medications and monitors medication compliance. Provides health counseling to participants and their families on an individual or group basis. Assists in the examination, assessment, evaluation testing and treatment of participants.
