Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Must have completed the first semester and currently enrolled in an accredited BSN RN program, or completed the equivalent time and be enrolled in a currently accredited ADN program.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care

Preferred Job Requirements:

Preference will be given to prior work experience in a comparable health care setting

Position Summary Performs general patient care including hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and continuous observation under the guidance, mentoring, and oversight of the Registered Nurse. Qualifications Enrolled in an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program and preparing to enter the final two semesters or quarter of the appliable nursing program OR completed nursing program and does not have current FL license. Completed Senior Nurse Intern competencies. Pre-graduation: Proof of continued enrollment in a pre-licensure, professional nursing program with no break in enrollment exceeding one (1) year. Six (6) months experience required Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification. Responsibilities What you will do Provides routine treatments and interventions consistent with the educational level and skills learned in the academic environment and demonstrated competency through Orlando Health. Performs advanced skills after achieving demonstrated competencies such as: nasogastric tube irrigation, suctioning, and removal; wound irrigation; complex dressing change; maintenance of enteral tube feeding (Dobhoff, Nasogastric, and Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy); and tracheostomy care. Performs increased or continuous visual observation for Baker Act, behavioral health, and suicide risk patients as assigned and utilizes the Safe Patient Room Environment Checklist during staff changes or transfer of care for Baker Act, behavioral health, and suicide risk patients. Assists patients with hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs. Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
