Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Qualifications

Education and Training: Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Experience: One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.

What does the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) do? Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) will have the following background and experience: Level 1: Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 0-3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology. Level 2 (in addition to level 1 requirements): 3-5 years nursing experience including at least one year in oncology preferred. Level Sr (in addition to level 1 and 2 requirements): Five years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred.
