Overview

The Medical Assistant supports WakeMed’s Pediatric Endocrinology team by providing compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients in a specialty ambulatory setting. Working under the direction and delegation of a provider, this role partners closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality clinical care and an exceptional patient experience. What You'll Do

Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and other clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record.
Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments within the scope of practice.
Coordinate patient care activities, including referrals, authorizations, follow-up appointments, and patient education.
Support patients and families by clearly communicating care plans, treatment instructions, and next steps.
Prepare exam rooms, maintain supplies, and ensure a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to promote seamless patient care.
Respond to patient and family questions with professionalism, empathy, and a service-oriented mindset.
Follow clinical protocols, infection prevention standards, and organizational policies to ensure quality outcomes.

Experience working as a Medical Assistant in a specialty care, pediatric, or ambulatory care setting preferred.

Learn more here . How you will make an impact Function as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing direct patient care. Perform routine administrative and patient care supportive duties that assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic operates efficiently.
