Position: RN (contract) Location: Buchanan Dam, TX Compensation: $40-42/hour Hours: 20 hours/week We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) in the Buchanan Dam, TX area to administer patient care in accordance with a physician-established care plan. This role is a 1099 contract opportunity, with care being provided at the patient’s residence. Patient's needs include 20 hours/week. Schedule: Patient's needs include 20 hours a week - flexible schedule, perfect for those looking for supplemental hours or a PRN schedule!

Responsibilities

Execute physician-prescribed plans of care
Complete compliant documentation of the care provided in the system of record
Manage and administer prescribed medication, treatment, and therapies
Perform various activities associated with daily living
Monitor for changes in the patient's condition, such as weight loss/gain, self-care abilities, and indicators of disease progression
Communicate with family members, physicians, case managers, and other prescribed individuals regarding the patient's health
Work with patients is done one-on-one in the patient's home to provide a comfortable environment
Collaborate with and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants and Personal Care Attendants
Perform other personal care services as necessary to meet the patient's needs

Minimum Qualifications

Current State or Compact License as a Registered Nurse
1+ years of experience as an RN in a clinical or home health setting
Current CPR certification
Willing to get TB tested
Maintain required insurance
Must have dependable transportation and be willing to commute to the patient’s home

PURPOSE AND SCOPE: This position is for graduates of an accredited school of Nursing working in a state that does not allow graduates to perform nursing duties until licensed. The specific job title used will be determined based on the state where the employee is employed. Functions as part of the hemodialysis health care team providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse while working towards obtaining their nursing license. Employees hired into this position will be required to obtain their nursing license within 90 days of their hire date. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Patient Care: Performs vascular access evaluation pre-treatment. Performs and records Pre and Post dialysis evaluation, weight and vital signs with initial identification. Performs vascular access cannulation and reports any difficulties in cannulation or unusual findings to nurse supervisor. Initiates dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders including blood flow (QB) and dialysate flow (QD). Evaluates intradialytic problems and provides intervention as prescribed by physician order or as directed. Monitors patients’ response to dialysis therapy. Obtains vital signs prior to reinfusion; performs all relevant functions necessary for the discontinuation of treatment and documents appropriately. Documents information related to patient treatment including documentation in the patient health record.
