Job Description​

We are hiring a Registered Nurse for our Neurosurgery clinic at our Lee's Summit location!

  • Full Time Days

  • Monday - Friday; 8am-4pm

  • No nights or weekends.

  • RN MO and KS required

  • BLS required

  • Previous clinic or inpatient experience in Neuroscience preferred

In clinic setting:

  • Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.

  • Provide telephone triage, patient flow, and coordination of patient care.

  • Schedule emergent need patient appointments, identify learning needs for patients and families, provide advice and recommendations, insert intravenous access with medication administration and duties as assigned based on clinic need.

  • Delegate tasks to clinical staff in accordance with demonstrated competencies and consideration to Scope of Practice.

  • Serve as subject matter expert for patient education, assessment, interpretation, and documentation of patient care and testing.

  • Enter admission orders as directed by provider.

  • Manage expired samples.

  • Able to work in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously.

  • Provide excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor at all times.

  • May cover Medical Assistant, LPN, or other office duties as needed.

Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to): Recognizes signs of abuse and reports appropriately to the hospital social worker and/or Adult / Child Protective Services. Familiar with the EMTALA Regulations. Responsible for the observation and direction of patient lifts, mobilization, and shall participate as needed in patient handling. Attends and maintains mandatory training in safe patient handling, trained in safe lifting techniques, includes but not limited to 1) Appropriate use of lifting devices and equipment, 2) Five areas of body exposure: vertical, lateral, bariatric repositioning and ambulation, 3) Use of lifting devices to handle patients safely. Uses professional judgment and clinical assessment in safe patient handling that are consistent with Safe Patient Handling policies.
