The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating the needs of the patient. The Nurse Practitioner works collaboratively to formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, order and interpret results from laboratory tests, provide patient education, prepare medical records and refer patients in accordance with Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations, Oceans’ Mission, policies and procedures and Performance Improvement Standards.

 

Essential Functions:

1. Diagnosing, conducting, and prescribing medications for patients.
2. Responsible for providing emergency services, physician, and psycho-social examinations of their patients if applicable
3. Developing appropriate treatment plan and providing effective management of patient care with proper evaluation.
4. Consulting with patients and families having multiple and complex disorders; and working in a collaborative and integrative role with primary healthcare providers.
5. Performing invasive procedures.
6. Educating patients on positive health promoting lifestyle choices and diseases, injury and illness prevention.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is a Float APP role and the APP will float intermittently within the region based on team needs. After one to three years of practice, the Provider may have the opportunity to be cross-trained and provide care through a virtual video platform. Hours: 1.0 FTE, Three 12-hour shifts/week. Predictable every 3rd weekend rotation, which facilitates ease of long-term planning, plus holiday rotation (2-3 per year). Position Requirements: Physician Assistant: Must have current licensure as a Physician Assistant by PA Board of Medicine Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant training program. A health care provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs, i.e., not excluded from participation in Medicare, Medicaid or any other federal or state health insurance program. Minimum one-year experience as a Physician Assistant is preferred. Nurse Practitioner: Must have Certification by ANCC or other qualifying agency in area of specialty. Valid Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license and Certificate of Prescriptive Authority in Pennsylvania. Valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse.
