About the Role

The Hamlet Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center at Nesconset is seeking an experienced and compassionate RN Unit Manager to oversee clinical operations on one of our nursing units. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of resident care while leading and supporting nursing staff in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment.

The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader who is hands-on, organized, and passionate about long-term care excellence.

RN Unit Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily clinical operations of assigned nursing unit

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs)

  • Ensure compliance with NYSDOH, CMS, and facility policies

  • Participate in survey preparation, response, and follow-up

  • Conduct clinical audits and ensure accurate documentation

  • Coordinate care plans with interdisciplinary team

  • Monitor quality indicators, infection control, and resident outcomes

  • Address resident and family concerns promptly and professionally

  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers as needed

RN Unit Manager Qualifications

  • Active New York State RN license (required)

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or long-term care

  • Previous leadership or charge nurse experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of NYSDOH and CMS regulations

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

  • EMR experience (PointClickCare preferred)

Salary: Up to $115,000 per year
(based on experience)
