Job Summary

Qualifications

If position requires IV therapy/management skills, the following is required in North Dakota: graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.

Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting physician with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Responsible for appointment scheduling including care and chart management. Interacts professionally and treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families. Functions as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers. Consults other departments as appropriate for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs. Communicates appropriately and clearly to office manager, co-workers, and physicians. Documentation meets current standards and policies. Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Is flexible, organized and functions under stressful situations. Completes annual education requirements, adheres to infection control, safety guidelines, ethical business practices, and confidentiality policies. Wears identification while on duty, uses computerized punch time system correctly. Attends at least 75% of staff meetings annually. Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.
