Responsibilities

In collaboration with a Physician, assumes total patient care for designated patients in a specialty setting. Plans, implements, coordinates, and evaluates comprehensive care to ensure quality and continuity of care delivery.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

 

Graduate of an advanced practice nursing program

5 years of related experience

Advanced knowledge and skills in the delivery of nursing services and in specialty area(s)

 

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

 

BLS

One of the following:

  • Current Alabama RN license
  • Current Multi State RN License in accordance with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) for Alabama*

*Infirmary Health abides by the NLC requirements and guidelines for the state of Alabama

CRNP credentialed by the Alabama Board of Nursing and collaboration with physician approved by the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners

 

Certification in Specialty Area:

 

For Neonatal, must have Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification (NNP) through National Certification Corporation (NCC) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in nursing from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama Required Completion of an approved nurse practitioner training program Required NPC - Certified Nurse Practitioner Certification as a nurse practitioner Required and Licensed Nurse Practitioner Licensure with the state of Alabama as a nurse practitioner Required and RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Licensure with the state of Alabama as a registered nurse Required Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
