Utilizes aseptic surgical techniques in the preparation of materials, supplies and equipment for surgical procedures (e.g., assistance with gowning and gloving; preparation and draping of the surgical area; provision of a sterile field, instruments, suture and related materials; anticipation of the Surgeons' needs; passing of instruments and/or supplies; holding of retractors, observing and reporting possible breaks in aseptic technique; and assisting in maintaining a sterile, dry, unobstructed field). Performs all types of procedures and maintains basic knowledge of a variety of procedures. Ensures the environmental disinfection, safety and efficiency of the operating room. USPI Cibolo Creek Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Materials Manager/Surgical Tech to join our team. We have 3 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in Orthopedics and Podiatry. Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required; schedule subject to change based on surgical schedule and flow of the day. Job Summary: Responsible for the process, which includes inventory control: ordering all medical supplies, maintaining an appropriate inventory of all medical supplies, receiving and stocking of all medical supplies to their assigned area. Provides support to the surgical team and provides patient care within the prevailing state standards of practice and according to the policies of the facility. Communicates appropriate information to other team members. May have additional responsibilities designated by the Administrator, which may include, but are not limited to, providing patient care in other peri-operative departments, serving on committees, or participating in quality improvement projects. Responsibilities: Orders and maintains all medical inventory. Order miscellaneous supplies for center. Performs Quarterly Inventory accounting.
