JOB SUMMARY

The Licensed Practical Nurse Lead is responsible for non-clinical tasks, direct patient care, ongoing education, reinforcement of care plans, and providing general support in an ambulatory setting under the direction and supervision of the patient’s physician or licensed medical practitioner or designee in accordance with policy and procedure and competency to promote patient health and wellness.

The Licensed Practical Nurse Lead serves as a clinical leader and serves as a resource for CMA and LPN team members, providing expertise and guidance as well as validating skills and competencies.

This position requires providing services to all age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program required.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinic setting required. Demonstration of leadership, training, and process improvement preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Licensure:

 Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia prior to onboarding.

Additional Skills/Requirements Required:

AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required. Ability to successfully complete general and department role based specific skills validation and competency testing.

  • Patient Care: Responsible for practicing safely within the defined standards of practice.
    • Records and relays patient information, symptoms, and concerns to the patient’s medical provider or registered nurse for further triage assessment and to determine a plan of care

  • Nursing Practice: Practices within the boundaries of the regulations governing the practice of nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia

    • Contributes to the development of practice guiding resources (policies, procedures, guidelines, protocol orders, etc.)

The base compensation range for this role is $24.15 - $34.37 hourly.
 

Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.  Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
