MedStar Harbor Hospital is seeking experienced RNs to fill roles in our Stroke Telemetry Unit.

 

Unit Highlights:

24 beds

  • 4:1 Patient to nurse ratio on day shift / 5:1 Patient to nurse ratio on night shift
  • Straight shifts (either day shift or night shift positions) with three 12-hour shifts, every third weekend, and Holiday requirements
  • Mostly private rooms with telemetry monitoring for all beds.
  • Experienced customer service and patient-oriented team.

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team

Qualifications

  • ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
  • Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
  • Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

About this Job: Unit Highlights The 5 West Surgical Unit has the capacity to serve up to (20) patients with a focus on a variety of surgical specialty patients. Many of these patients have elective surgeries and are discharged within 1-2 days of their procedure. These specialties include but are not limited to: Orthopedic, Bariatric, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, and Spinal Surgery. Staff are uniquely trained to work with these patients as they are educated in general post-operative patient care as well as the aspects of each specialty care domain.
