MedStar Medical Group is seeking a PRN Nurse Practitioner to join the Interventional Radiology team at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, Maryland. This flexible opportunity allows an advanced practice provider to work alongside interventional radiologists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

 

The Nurse Practitioner will support the Interventional Radiology service by providing patient evaluations, consultations, pre- and post-procedure management, follow-up care, and coordination of treatment plans. The APP will collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and continuity of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments
  • Evaluate patients before and after interventional procedures
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory studies
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians
  • Provide patient education and coordinate follow-up care
  • Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records
  • Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Current or eligible Maryland Nurse Practitioner licensure
  • Previous experience in Interventional Radiology, surgery, critical care, hospital medicine, or a procedural specialty preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
