Job Summary:We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including assisted living, independent living, and memory care facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, documentation, and residents' interaction, with a focus on supporting individuals with diverse needs such as developmental disabilities, dementia, and chronic conditions. The Medical Technician will play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery while maintaining compliance with senior living healthcare regulations and privacy standards. Duties:
  • Perform routine patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and documentation of medical histories.
  • Assist with activities of daily living such as mobility support, hygiene, and feeding assistance, including tube feeding when necessary.
  • Administer medications and treatments following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Operate Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner for accurate medical documentation.
  • Support patients with specialized needs including Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and other forms of senior or disability care.
  • Monitor patient conditions and report changes to supervising healthcare professionals promptly.
  • Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration, and other clinical tasks requiring anatomy and physiology knowledge.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the healthcare environment to prevent infections and ensure compliance with health regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is highly desirable.
  • Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide compassionate support for seniors or individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
  • Certification or licensing as required by state or local regulations for Medical Technicians is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with a respectful approach toward patients’ privacy rights under HIPAA regulations.
