POSITION OVERVIEW

The Certified Assisted Living Associate (HHA) provides care and support to Assisted Living and Assisted Living Memory Care residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety. The role includes direct patient care, emotional support, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to maintain a positive environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

Assists AL residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility. Additionally, assists with medication reminders and ensures AL residents follow prescribed healthcare plans.
Monitors and documents vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) as directed by supervising nursing staff.
Provides companionship and emotional support to AL residents, promoting a positive and nurturing environment.
Assist AL residents during mealtimes, including serving food, feeding if necessary, and ensuring dietary needs are met.
Helps with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and safety protocols.
Maintains a clean, safe, and organized environment in AL residents’ rooms and common areas.
Complies with facility policies, state regulations, and safety guidelines to provide the highest standard of care.

Provides personal care and related homemaking duties for the adult client with short-term rehabilitation, and care of the sick during terminal stage of life. The Home Health Aide is responsible for communication of the implementation of the plan of care and reports changes in the clients’ status. The client’s home setting may be a private residence, assisted living or skilled nursing facility. The Home Health Aide consistently follows the McLean mission and code of conduct. JOB COMPETENCIES: 1. Participates in twelve hours of agency-approved education annual, six of which are related to hospice care. Communicates with supervisor to monitor progress in order to meet annual requirement. WORKING CONDITIONS: Typical Physical Demands : Requires full range of body motion including position, assisting and transferring clients using minimal, moderate, or maximal assist.
