POSITION OVERVIEW

The Certified Assisted Living Associate (HHA) provides care and support to Assisted Living and Assisted Living Memory Care residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety. The role includes direct patient care, emotional support, and collaboration with healthcare professionals to maintain a positive environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

Assists AL residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility. Additionally, assists with medication reminders and ensures AL residents follow prescribed healthcare plans.
Monitors and documents vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, temperature) as directed by supervising nursing staff.
Provides companionship and emotional support to AL residents, promoting a positive and nurturing environment.
Assist AL residents during mealtimes, including serving food, feeding if necessary, and ensuring dietary needs are met.
Helps with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and safety protocols.
Maintains a clean, safe, and organized environment in AL residents’ rooms and common areas.
Complies with facility policies, state regulations, and safety guidelines to provide the highest standard of care.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED/HSE preferred
0-1 Years of relevant experience preferred

Perform delegated tasks after instruction by RN or PT. Bathe clients, assist with showers and partial baths as appropriate. Assist clients with proper exercises and assist PT in the rehabilitation for client when applicable. Help client maintain personal hygiene and assist with all aspects of activities of daily living. Answer client questions about self-care techniques and give instructions that will assist family, client, and family/support in providing care. Assist client in getting ready for doctor appointments. Lift, turn, and weigh clients as appropriate. Take and record vital signs as assigned, including blood pressure, temperature, respiration. Qualifications Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) strongly preferred. Must be registered and listed in good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry in the state of employment.
