Position Overview

A Place At Home – Fairfield South is seeking a compassionate and dependable caregiver to support clients in Greenwich, CT. Caregivers in this role help maintain a clean, comfortable, and supportive environment while respecting the unique needs and wishes of each client and family. This position focuses on providing companionship, personal support, and assistance in recovery, helping clients maintain independence and follow their personalized care plans.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor and promptly report any changes in the client’s physical or mental condition to the supervisor.
  • Provide medication reminders per the care plan (non-medical).
  • Prepare light meals and snacks according to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry and organization, to ensure a safe, clean home environment.
  • Offer companionship, emotional reassurance, and supportive conversation.
  • Accompany the client on errands and appointments.
  • Document all care provided and communicate with the care team to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Always respect and protect client dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong compassion and empathy in supporting clients and families during sensitive times.
  • Ability to provide gentle personal care while maintaining dignity and respect.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with families, clients, and the care team.
  • Emotional resilience and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Knowledge of safe mobility and transfer techniques preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.

Education & Experience

  • CNA, HHA, or equivalent caregiving experience preferred.
  • Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, and TB test (or willingness to obtain).
  • Successful completion of background and drug screening (with random checks as applicable).
  • Physically capable of performing required duties, including safe lifting and assisting with mobility.
