Lead Direct Care Professional

$21 - $23.10 / hour
Devereux Arizona’s Residential Treatment Center (RTC) provides intensive, 24-hour support for youth aged 7 to 17, who are experiencing serious emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. In a structured, therapeutic environment, we combine clinical expertise with compassionate, trauma-informed care to help youth heal, grow and build a brighter future. The RTC features dormitories, an accredited K-12 school, food services, 24/7 on-site nursing, and specialized therapy and clinical services.

Duties

Lead Direct Care Professionals (Lead DCP) are responsible for the health and safety of campus individuals, as well as assisting Program Managers with the supervising, planning, and implementation of day-to-day program activities. Job duties include:

  • Helping individuals with their mental health, managing behaviors and emotional needs, de-escalating crisis situations, treatment plan implementation, personal care (bathing, dressing), medication management, transport, fostering social skills, and supporting direct care staff
  • Being an active member of the treatment team, assisting with managing behaviors in accordance with the individualized treatment plans, and facilitating programming that promotes treatment goals and developmental skills
  • Serving as a role model, mentor, leader, and trainer to Direct Care Professionals
  • Assisting with the planning and implementation of enrichment activities such as art projects, music groups, culinary arts, various athletics (basketball, soccer, swimming), and adult-transition prep!

Additional Details

  • Pay Range: $21 - $23.10 / hr
  • Shift Differentials: $1/hr. 3pm-11pm and $2/hr. 11pm-7am, 7 days/wk.
  • Various Full Time Schedule Options; ability to work afternoons/nights and weekends neede d (schedules are subject to change)

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in human services preferred
  • One (1) year of work experience in behavioral health service delivery or Six (6) months Devereux experience
  • Supervisory experience preferred

Other

  • Valid Arizona Driver's License is required
  • Must be able to pass 36-month DMV check
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment (if applicable)
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
  • Must be able to attend two (2) weeks of new hire orientation Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm (paid)
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions ( or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions). Current Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions (or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions). Arizona Revised Statutes Notice: If a person's employment record contains a six-month or longer time frame during which the person was not employed by any employer, a completed application with a new set of fingerprints shall be submitted to the department of public safety.
