In this role, the successful candidate provides coordination, and assurance of comprehensive health care using advanced practice nursing process and pertinent standards of care, the diagnosis of illness and physical conditions, and performance of diagnostic, therapeutic, corrective and prescriptive measures as appropriate for patient within a collaborative practice agreement with a specific physician on the staff of NYU Langone Health. Supervises and directs a designated group of Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants for purposes of optimizing service line activities in the delivery of health care to patients while promoting a positive work environment. Serves as a liaison to nursing, care management, hospital administration, and other hospital departments. Job Responsibilities: Performs all relevant clinical functions based on current evidence. Coordinates discharge planning with interdisciplinary team, patient and family to assure timely and safe discharge. Practices as a member of the allied health staff according to the rules and regulations, and bylaws of the Medical Staff. Practices within scope of practice and approved delineation of privileges. Acts as a professional role model to all levels of staff by incorporating expertise and related experience into patient care.Considers needs and behaviors of specific patient age and cultural groups in all patient care activities. Evaluates advanced practice activities that contribute to achievement of patient outcomes and add value to clinical care. Utilizes practice-based evidence as mechanism to evaluate care and the need for change in structure or processes to improve care. Facilitates the on-boarding and orientation as well as ongoing professional development of nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Post-Operative Care: - Monitor patients in the post-operative period, assessing vital signs and managing pain and complications. - Provide patient education on post-operative care, medication management, and potential complications. - Assist in coordinating follow-up care and appointments.
