Job Description

The Onboarding Specialist is an experienced registered nurse, who works with newly hired nurses through their clinical orientation to facilitate and evaluate learning. They will partner to foster safe, competent practice as well as strengthen confidence in the clinical arena while building and facilitating a trusting relationship with teammates, physicians, patients, and families.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years RN experience
  • Minimum 1 year pediatric/specialty experience; NICU highly preferred
  • Minimum 1 year teaching or orienting clinical staff

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Formal mentor/preceptor
  • Experience in orienting different roles to clinical care (student, new graduate, nurse with experience)

Education

  • Graduate from accredited school of nursing

Certification Summary

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment or upon start of clinical shift if working in the Emergency Department (ED)
