Mentor/Caregiver for Adult with Special Needs Actively Hiring

Kindly Direct Care is seeking caring and reliable caregivers and Direct Support Professionals to provide one-to-one support to adults with developmental disabilities throughout New Jersey. This opportunity is designed for candidates who are comfortable with hands-on caregiving and personal support in addition to companionship and community participation.

Position Overview

Assignments vary based on the individual. Some individuals need assistance with personal care, activities of daily living, mobility, meals, routines, supervision, or other hands-on supports. The goal is always to provide needed assistance while preserving dignity, choice, privacy, and as much independence as possible.

Responsibilities May Include

·       Assist with dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, hygiene, meals, and other ADLs when required by the individual’s plan.

·       Provide mobility, positioning, transfer, or safety support when required and when the DSP is trained and authorized to do so.

·       Provide companionship and help the individual participate in community activities and meaningful routines.

·       Encourage independence by supporting the individual to do as much as possible for themselves.

·       Follow individualized care, behavioral, medical, and safety instructions within DSP scope and training.

·       Observe for changes or concerns and report them promptly.

·       Complete service documentation, timekeeping, and required communication accurately and on time.

·       Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, reliability, and respect for the individual and family.

Qualifications

·       Comfort providing hands-on personal care when required by the assignment.

·       Patient, respectful, dependable, and attentive to health and safety.

·       Ability to follow detailed support instructions and communicate concerns promptly.

·       Ability to complete required background checks, onboarding, and training.

·       Prior DSP, HHA, CNA, PCA, home care, behavioral health, disability-services, or direct-care experience is preferred for higher-support assignments.

·       Reliable transportation and driving credentials when required by the assignment.

Schedule & Compensation

Part-time and full-time assignments may be available. Schedule, location, support needs, and pay vary by assignment. Higher-support or specialized cases may carry a higher assignment-specific rate.
