CNA Job Description

We are a growing company and have multiple roles open for a skilled CNA. You will provide outstanding patient care and physical support for patients and residents on a daily basis. To do well in this role you should have your state-certified nursing assistant certification and a nursing degree from a recognized CNA program.

CNA Responsibilities:

  • Providing great patient care.
  • Answering patient calls and determining how best to help them.
  • Providing physical support for patients or residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, - using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
  • Turning and repositioning bedridden patients.
  • Ensuring patients or residents receive appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences.
  • Obtaining a wide range of information from physicians, caregivers, and nurses about patient conditions, treatment plans, and suggested activities.
  • Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to medical or nursing staff.
  • Recording vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested by staff.
  • Examining patients to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine.
  • Reminding patients to take medications and nutritional supplements.
  • Noting observations of patient behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.
  • Stay up to date on CNA training and facility policy and procedure.

CNA Requirements:

  • State Certified Nursing Assistant Certification.
  • Nursing degree from a CNA program.
  • Ability to think and work independently and with direction, and communicate with staff members in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Current identification.
  • Comfortable using a computer.
  • Excellent personal hygiene.

Assist residents in dressing as necessary. • Assist in preparing residents for meals (taking to/from dining room, serving trays, placing bibs, assisting in feeding or cutting food, removal of trays, supervision in dining room, etc.). • Serve nourishment in accordance with established facility procedures. • Feed residents who cannot feed themselves. • Assure that resident’s food is accessible and self-help devices are available as needed. • Prepare residents for therapy, activities, physician visits, religious services, etc., to include transporting residents to/from such activities. • Keep incontinent residents clean and dry as possible at all times. Check with Charge Nurse for type of restraint to be used. • Apply hand roll or splint to residents with contractures as outlined within the facility’s established policies and procedures. • Follow infection control procedures in accordance with established facility policy when isolation techniques are necessary. • Chart required information every shift. • Complete Intake and Output documentation on all residents with orders before the end of each shift. • Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator. Job Description: The Patient Care Technician functions as a clinical support partner, assisting the patient care team by performing various tasks and procedures as instructed by a licensed professional. Additionally, the Patient Care Technician may assume the responsibilities of a Health Unit Coordinator. This position requires a current Colorado CNA license and at least one year of CNA experience as this position will provide five (5) orientation shifts to assist you to learn each of the units you will float to. Night shift 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. You will be required to work rotating holidays and weekends based on the needs of the department. This is a float position which will required to float to all units and an additional 10% differential is provided. This is a float position which will required to float to the following units: Currently float to regularly: ED, ICU, Tele, MS, OBS, Sitter At times they float to: PACU, PSCU, and Women's Essential Functions Prioritize and deliver basic patient care, including toileting, bathing, linen and clothing changes, fresh water and ice, ambulating, comfort measures, and other patient needs, while providing excellent customer service when responding to patient and family requests. Reports and records patient care findings and data in a timely manner. Reports changes in the patient condition quickly and secures qualified assistance as needed.
