Riverside's Nurse Aide Program is intended to transition new hires from Hospitality Assistants to fully licensed Certified Nurse Aides. In this program, you will begin by working as a Hospitality Assistant in a labor pool (as needed) status until your scheduled course begins. The course is an accelerated 4-week program that will teach you the skills and knowledge needed to take and pass your CNA boards. Classes require full-time day shift hours (participants are paid for all course and clinical hours). Following the completion of the program and passing the Virginia Board of Nursing – Nurse Aide exam, you will move into a full-time or part-time CNA position at the location in which you are hired. Full-time CNA positions require a 12-month work commitment and part-time requires an 18-month work commitment upon graduation. Status and shift is determined by facility need. The work commitment must be fulfilled in a Lifelong Health facility (skilled rehab, long term care, or assisted living). Positions in home health or acute care do not qualify for the Earn and Learn program.
