DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Non-Invasive Diagnostic Department provides services to patients that include Echocardiography, Nuclear Medicine Testing, and Cardiac Stress Testing. 

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Cardiovascular Non-Invasive Diagnostics RN - Redmond will provide patient focused care as a registered nurse who acts as part of the care delivery team in the Non-Invasive Cardiology Lab and in other related settings as needed.  As a nurse, this position will oversee the work of other caregivers, providing specific care to assigned patient(s) throughout the shift, as required under the scope of the RN licensure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Maintains and demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of nursing principles, practices, standards, and techniques and applies this knowledge in accordance with SCHS policies and work instructions and within laws and regulations governing nursing practice in the State of Oregon.

Assesses the patient’s condition and needs using critical thinking and clinical judgment sets outcomes; implements appropriate nursing actions and collaborates with other disciplines to meet the patient’s/family’s physical, emotional, spiritual, social, and intellectual needs; and evaluates patient’s progress.

Documents all patient care with proficiency in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory agencies.

Calculates dosages and administers medications accurately in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures for medication administration.

Communicates (both written and orally) effectively and maintains professional relationships with caregivers, medical staff, patients, and guests.

Provides clinical and emotional support to patients undergoing diagnostic procedures.

Provides and monitors equipment and supplies based on patient and procedural needs.

Physiologically monitors the patient during procedures.

Responsible to manage the patient’s experience by clarifying, integrating, and coordinating the roles of the interdisciplinary team.

Assures that equipment is functioning properly and that appropriate supply inventory is maintained. 

Perform diagnostic hemodynamic monitoring during Stress Testing, Echo Stress and Nuclear Stress Procedures and other Non-Invasive Diagnostic Procedures performed to assess the Cardiovascular System.

Demonstrates awareness of and supports St. Charles departmental and operating unit goals through participation in continuous quality improvement and departmental activities.

Identifies work-related problems with possible solutions and implements solution(s) within scope of practice, as appropriate.

EDUCATION:                 

Required: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.            

Preferred: BSN

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

Required: Current Oregon RN license.

AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification.

ACLS certification within 90 days of placement in position.

Preferred: PALS

EXPERIENCE:

Required: Advanced skills with EKG interpretation and recognition of complex rhythms.

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of highly technical computerized medical equipment.

Preferred: Non-Invasive Cardiology Diagnostics experience within the past two (2) years.

Two (2) years critical care, cardiovascular, ED or Flight nursing experience.

Cardiovascular experience.

Electrophysiology experience.

EMR experience.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.

Required Qualifications: Current unrestricted RN licensure in the state of practice Current driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation Preferred Qualifications: Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire 1+ years of clinical experience Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
