Your Role on the Team

Position Summary

This position is responsible for the nursing care delivered to patients in the ED. Utilizes the nursing process (assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation) throughout a patient's stay in the ED, from triage to discharge/admission. Communicates effectively with other ED team members to ensure appropriate, timely, and professional care to all patients. Demonstrates ability to function safely and efficiently in high-stress situations and in response to unexpected changes in workload. Demonstrates knowledge of resources available within the hospital and in the community. Reports to ED Director .

Required Qualifications

What It Takes to be Successful

  • Two years of acute care nursing experience and One year of ER experience
  • Current RN license
  • American Heart Association ACLS, BLS, PALS and Non-violent crisis intervention/verbal de-escalation course within 3 months of hire.
  • All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Job Summary: Works collaboratively with an MD to coordinate and screen for the appropriateness of admissions and Continued stays.
