Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Robison Jewish Health Center | Cedar Sinai Park
Make a Difference Every Shift
At Robison Jewish Health Center, our CNAs are an essential part of the care team. You’ll provide hands-on, person-centered care while helping residents maintain their independence, dignity, comfort, and quality of life.
We’re looking for compassionate, dependable CNAs who enjoy building relationships with residents and want to be part of a supportive healthcare team.
This is more than completing a task list. It’s getting to know the people you care for, noticing when something isn’t quite right, celebrating progress, providing reassurance on difficult days, and helping each resident live as comfortably and independently as possible.
What You’ll Do
As a CNA, you’ll work under the supervision of a licensed nurse to provide direct care in accordance with Robison Jewish Health Center policies, procedures, and Oregon requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, continence care, and other activities of daily living.
Supporting safe mobility, transfers, positioning, ambulation, and exercise.
Assisting residents with meals and using safe feeding techniques when needed.
Encouraging adequate nutrition and hydration.
Helping residents maintain as much independence as possible with daily activities.
Supporting residents with orientation, social interaction, rest, comfort, and meaningful daily activities.
Observing residents for changes in their physical, emotional, or psychosocial condition and promptly communicating concerns to the licensed nurse.
Providing care that respects each resident’s individual preferences, abilities, privacy, and dignity.
Maintaining clean, organized resident rooms and care areas.
Accurately completing required documentation and using the electronic medical record.
Working collaboratively with nurses, fellow CNAs, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
The CNA We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit for our team if you:
Truly enjoy working with older adults.
Treat residents with patience, kindness, dignity, and respect.
Are dependable and understand how important your presence is to both residents and your team.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, coworkers, and leadership.
Notice changes in a resident’s condition and understand when to involve the nurse.
Stay calm and professional in a busy healthcare environment.
Are comfortable caring for residents who may be confused, anxious, or experiencing cognitive changes.
Work well as part of a team while also taking responsibility for your individual assignments.
Are flexible, receptive to direction, and willing to help where needed.
Bring a positive, constructive attitude to work.
Qualifications
Required:
Current Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing with the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
Successful completion of an Oregon State Board of Nursing-approved nursing assistant training program.
Current CPR or BLS certification.
Valid Oregon Food Handler Card.
Preferred:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1–3 years of current nursing assistant experience.
Previous long-term care, skilled nursing, or acute-care experience.
Experience using an electronic medical record (EMR).
Acute-care nursing assistant experience may substitute for long-term care experience.
Your Impact
Our goal is to provide care in an atmosphere of comfort, independence, and dignity.
As a CNA, you are often the team member who spends the most time directly with our residents. That means you have an incredible opportunity to recognize changes early, build meaningful relationships, advocate for residents, and make their everyday experiences better.
We’re looking for CNAs who understand that great care is not only about what you do—it’s also about how you make people feel while you’re doing it.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This is an on-campus, hands-on resident care position. CNAs must be able to safely perform the physical functions associated with resident care, including assisting with transfers, mobility, positioning, and other common movements throughout the workday.
The healthcare environment may include frequent interruptions and interactions with residents experiencing confusion, behavioral symptoms, or physical or cognitive challenges. Team members may also be exposed to infectious illnesses and other conditions associated with a healthcare setting.
Successful CNAs must demonstrate appropriate body mechanics, safe transfer and feeding techniques, manual dexterity, and sufficient vision and hearing to safely perform their responsibilities.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Join Our Team
If you’re looking for a CNA position where you can build relationships, be part of a collaborative care team, and know that your work matters every day, we’d love to hear from you.
Come help us create an environment where every resident is treated with the care, dignity, respect, and compassion they deserve.
Other Duties
This job description is intended to describe the primary responsibilities of the position and is not an exhaustive list of all duties. Responsibilities and assignments may change based on resident and organizational needs.
