LPN New Patient Onboarding Coordinator - Atrius Health - Remote

The New Patient Onboarding Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for new patients entering primary care practice. This role is responsible for coordinating the patient onboarding process, ensuring accurate registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, medical record collection, and patient education. The coordinator helps create positive patient experience while supporting efficient clinic operations and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Patient Onboarding
    • Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and contact information
    • Ensure all required intake forms and consents are completed
    • Educate patients on practice policies, services, and care team structure
  • Appointment Coordination
    • Schedule and confirm new patient appointments
    • Coordinate pre-visit requirements and follow-up communications
    • Facilitate referrals and coordination with specialty providers when necessary
    • Manage appointment reminders and rescheduling requests
  • Medical Records Management
    • Request, receive, and upload prior medical records into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
    • Ensure records are complete and available before patient visits
    • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Patient Communication
    • Serve as a primary contact for new patient questions and concerns
    • Provide information regarding services, office procedures, and patient portal enrollment
    • Assist patients with accessing and navigating digital health tools
  • Administrative Support
    • Document patient interactions accurately in the EHR
    • Maintain onboarding metrics and tracking reports
    • Collaborate with providers, nurses, medical assistants, and front-office staff to ensure seamless patient care

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed LPN in Massachusetts
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and healthcare software systems
  • Proven excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Demonstrated solid organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in healthcare, medical office, patient access, or customer service role 
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems 
  • Knowledge of insurance verification and healthcare registration processes

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20 - $36 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
