Essential Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
2. Selects, trains, orients, directs, coaches, evaluates, and counsels staff.
3. Evaluates leadership effectiveness and competence of supervisor, if applicable.
4. Selects, develops and counsels employees consistent with Human Resources management practices.Under direction of leadership, plans, prepares, implements, monitors and controls the budget to ensure sound fiscal management consistent with the goals of the hospital.
5. Adopts a total performance improvement approach to work that includes employee empowerment, managing with data, a philosophy of continuous improvement, a customer oriented attitude and a work methodology that minimizes error. This includes developing and maintaining quality-monitoring systems in area(s) of responsibility.
6. Reports performance improvement results and addresses any problems or issues accurately and timely.

12. Communicates closely with treating physicians keeping them informed of scheduling issues, any scheduling delays and patient care issues. Develops and maintains open lines of communication between the team members.
13. Monitors clinic specific business metrics, works with clinic staff to maintain metrics at or above established division goals.
14. Maintains survey-ready clinics, compliant with JCAHO standards and state/federal regulatory bodies. Participates in Joint Commission inspections and other local and state regulatory inspection requirements.
15. Selects, trains/orients, directs, coaches, evaluates, and counsels staff.
16. Monitors daily scheduling for timely flow and reduced wait times.
17. Monitors electronic medical records worklist and MyChart messages of all staff for timely response and follow up.
18. Assists in patient care including rooming of patient, entering health information into EMR, administering injections, assist with exam or diagnostic procedure setup.
19. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and with EMC policies and procedures.
20. Monitors to ensure lab quality checks are done daily including refrigerator temperature logging and eyewash checks per policy.
21. Establish and maintain par levels of medical supplies.
22. Ensures that staff consistently provides high quality patient care and/or other support services that are valued by patients, physicians and each other.
23. Ensures National Patient Safety Goals are adhered to and works closely with clinical staff in compliance among all staff and physicians.
24. Collaborates, plans and implements process improvement to maintain high customer satisfaction, with hospital quality staff and clinic division staff.
25. Schedules staff to ensure appropriate coverage, including responsibility to float to other areas or “flex out” when needed.
26. Monitors timekeeping system and minimizes overtime and penalties.

27. Provides clinical and operational oversight of any procedures performed within assigned outpatient clinic settings; ensures procedural practices, workflows, staffing, staff competency, patient assessment and consent, medication and injection safety, infection prevention, emergency preparedness, and pre- and post-procedure care are consistent with applicable regulatory requirements, organizational policies, and evidence-based standards of practice.

28. Ensures ongoing quality, safety, and regulatory readiness for any procedures performed in assigned outpatient clinic settings through monitoring of clinical practice and documentation, competency validation, review of adverse events and identified risks, and implementation of corrective actions.

29. Collaborates with physicians and appropriate organizational stakeholders to support continuous improvement and the safe introduction of new procedures, medications, equipment, technologies, and services provided in assigned areas of oversight.

30. Performs other duties as assigned.
