
CNA Med Surg Nursing Float (Full-time, Day shift)
About the Role:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Float position in Hoboken is a dynamic role designed to provide essential patient care across nursing departments within a healthcare facility. This role requires adaptability and a comprehensive understanding of nursing assistant duties to support various units as needed, ensuring continuity of care and operational efficiency. The CNA Float will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to assist patients with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and report changes in patient conditions promptly. By floating between departments, the CNA helps to balance staffing needs, reduce patient wait times, and maintain high standards of care throughout the facility. Ultimately, this position plays a critical role in enhancing patient comfort, safety, and overall healthcare experience in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current and valid New Jersey Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient care tasks safely and effectively.
- Ability to pass background checks and meet health screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year experience working in healthcare settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility assistance across different hospital units.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, reporting any abnormalities to nursing staff.
- Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and ensure patient rooms and equipment are clean and properly maintained.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to support patient needs and care plans.
- Adapt quickly to changing assignments and work environments while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
