Description
- Ensures that quality nursing care is delivered to all patients on assigned nursing units, in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures, and program plans of the hospital.
- Ensures patient care standards, orientation, and continuing education standards are followed.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's age, specific needs, and plans age specific treatment and care.
- Other roles and reponsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Illinois licensure.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- PALS, ACLS, and/or Neonatal Resuscitation certificate may be required.
- Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience.
- Demonstrated supervisory competence.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise and knowledge in assigned nursing units.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is of moderate demand.
- Routine lifting requirements fewer than 25 pounds, occasional lifting requirements of medium to heavy demand.
- Standing, sitting, walking, bending, and reaching required.
- May be required to assist with and/or transport patients.
- Works inside.
- May be exposed to communicable diseases.
