Supervisor, Certified Medical Assistant, OB.GYN, Full Time, Day

Position Summary

  • Under the direction of the Practice Manager, Physician, and/or Service Line Director, the Supervisor, Certified Medical Assistant provides day-to-day leadership and supervision of the clinical support staff within the practice
  • The position is responsible for coordinating Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) workflow, staffing, performance, training, onboarding, competency, and clinical operations to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care
  • The Supervisor serves as the clinical point person for CMA staff and is responsible for maintaining consistent clinical workflows, reinforcing practice policies and Valley standards, supporting quality initiatives, identifying operational and performance concerns, and communicating issues and recommendations to the Practice Manager and providers
  • The position provides hands-on clinical support as needed while maintaining oversight of CMA responsibilities, workflow, patient care processes, supplies, clinical equipment, and required documentation
  • The Supervisor is expected to create and maintain a high-functioning clinical team and promote accountability, professionalism, patient satisfaction, and continuous improvement

Education

  • Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program recognized by the State of New Jersey required.
  • Current and valid certification as a Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant recognized by the Board of Examiners, such as American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), required

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Medical Assistant experience in a physician office, clinic, or outpatient setting preferred
  • Demonstrated clinical proficiency and knowledge of medical practice operations required
  • Previous supervisory, lead, mentoring, training, or demonstrated leadership experience preferred

  • Strong clinical knowledge and demonstrated competency in Medical Assistant functions.
