As a Full Time Registered Nurse, Occupational Health, you'll provide care to client employees in our Health Center located in Mount Holly, NC.


  • Provide independent occupational health nursing care on second shift (Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:45 PM), including employee injury assessments, emergency response, wound care, and return-to-work evaluations.
  • Conduct medical surveillance and regulatory health services, including hearing tests, respiratory physicals, drug and alcohol testing, and other occupational health screenings (training provided for required certifications, if needed).

What You’ll Do

  • Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.)
  • Evaluates, treats, and prioritizes patient care within the scope of practice
  • Delivers evidence-based care to injured workers, accelerates return to work, and coordinates case management with the TPA and client
  • Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers
  • Performs and documents medical tests, screenings, and treatments as defined in site contract (EKG, audiometry, spirometry, vision)
  • Administers medications and emergency care within legal scope of practice
  • Maintains medical equipment, ensures a clean and safe environment, and follows infection control procedures
  • Maintains patient health records to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
  • Educates patients on health promotion and participates in follow-up care
  • Collaborates with healthcare professionals and resources, and company departments on health programs and injury prevention
  • Assists with accident investigations, return-to-work programs, and workplace safety initiatives
  • Performs other duties as assigned

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Certificate from an accredited Nursing School or Associate degree (A.S.) is required; Bachelor's degree (BSN) from four-year college or university is preferred
  • Currently licensed Registered Nurse in state of practice required
  • Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S), Emergency Nursing, or Case Management preferred and may be required for some sites
  • Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services
  • At least three years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an occupational health clinic, emergency room, or other ambulatory care clinic
  • Experience in strategies to promote and maintain healthy, safe, and productive workplaces, including: partners to identify/mitigate workplace hazards, health screenings/education, fitness for duty, and return to work exams

All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are encouraged to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the BSN program within seven years of their start date. Experience Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. Degrees, Licensures, Certifications Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
