Responsibilities

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) is responsible for providing appropriate nursing care, as directed by an RN on the nursing unit. Functions include gathering and reporting data, carrying out orders, and performing therapeutic procedures on patients in an age and population-appropriate manner, consistent with the policies, procedures, and guidelines of PAM Health. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Education and Training: Holds current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification required. BLS certification must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.

 

  • Current IV Certification within 90 days of employment, if required per state  regulations.

 

Experience: One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required

Licensed Practical Nurse Fulltime at AL 7am - 7pm

We are currently searching for a Licensed Practical Nurse for our Assisted Living facility. In this role, the Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care to the AL residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and in accordance with state and federal standards that govern our facility. This position reports to the AL Coordinator. Schedule : Shift is 7AM – 7PM, for a minimum of three days a week to include every other weekend. Shift diff for evening and weekends. Assist with planning resident care based on MD orders. Implement resident care based on MD orders. Evaluate care and communicate with MD for updates of orders (PRN). Ensure that residents receive their medicine at the prescribed time by the MD order. Monitor blood glucose, temperature and blood pressure. Assist residents with Daily Living Activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, transfer, ambulation, toileting and other resident needs. Ensure that CNAs are following MD Orders. Qualifications: Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a License Practical Nurse. Must be CPR Certified. One year of long term care experience desirable. Med/Surgical, Home Health experience helpful. Also experience working with the handicapped, developmentally disabled, or older adults preferred.
