What You'll Do as a Charge Nurse @ Landmark Hospitals

You will do the typical things you expect an RN to do at a specialty, acute care hospital. We specialize in medically complex patients, so the work is very interesting. You'll work alongside respiratory therapists, providers, and administrative staff with deep experience caring for complex patients.

As the charge nurse, you balance patient care and team leadership for the shift, managing the usual and the unexpected!

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver nursing care to medically complex patients
  • Monitor and manage patient conditions, including vital signs and lab work
  • Collaborate with physicians and other disciplines to coordinate care
  • Coordinate patient assignments based on staffing and patient acuity
  • Respond to emergencies, incidents, and act as a point of escalation for changes in patient conditions
  • Review shift documentation to ensure patient care is both appropriately given and well documented
  • Promote patient safety, teamwork, and compliance to drive quality patient care
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and patient satisfaction

Requirements for Charge Nurse

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, preferably in critical care, ICU, LTAC, or a similar acute-care setting
  • Previous Charge Nurse or nursing leadership experience preferred
