East Jefferson General Hospital, a proud member of LCMC Health, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our Interventional Radiology team. This is an exciting opportunity for an advanced practice provider who enjoys a collaborative environment, procedural medicine, and caring for patients with complex medical needs.


As a key member of the Interventional Radiology team, you will work alongside physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary specialists to provide comprehensive care before, during, and after image-guided procedures. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, highly organized, and passionate about delivering exceptional patient experiences.


What You'll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Manage pre-procedure and post-procedure evaluations and follow-up care
  • Collaborate with Interventional Radiologists to coordinate patient care plans
  • Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic testing and results
  • Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, treatment plans, and recovery expectations
  • Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently within the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
  • Serve as a clinical resource for interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications

Education

  • Master's or Doctoral Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program

Licensure & Certification

  • Current Louisiana Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license
  • National certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Current DEA registration and Louisiana Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) license, if required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Additional certifications required by organizational policy

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in Interventional Radiology, Radiology, Vascular Surgery, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, or a related specialty preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment and procedural management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaborative practice abilities

This landmark expansion will increase access to critical psychiatric services for more than 120,000 residents in New Orleans East, Gentilly, and the Lower 9th Ward who currently lack a nearby inpatient behavioral health facility. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Lead Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to help launch and lead our new inpatient behavioral health program. This unique opportunity combines direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, allowing you to shape clinical practice, mentor advanced practice providers, and contribute to the development of a transformative service line that will have a lasting impact on our community. Position Summary The Lead Advanced Practice Provider serves as an expert clinician and leader within the Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit. In addition to providing comprehensive psychiatric and medical care to patients with acute behavioral health needs, the Lead APP oversees the activities of advanced practice providers, supports orientation and training, and promotes the safe and effective delivery of evidence-based patient care. Working collaboratively with psychiatrists, nursing leadership, therapists, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members, the Lead APP plays a critical role in establishing clinical excellence, supporting professional development, and ensuring quality outcomes across the program. Key Responsibilities Clinical Leadership Provide leadership and support to Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants within the Behavioral Health Unit. Assist with the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and best practices. Serve as a mentor, preceptor, and resource for APPs, nursing staff, students, and healthcare team members. Support onboarding, orientation, education, and competency development for APP staff. Promote adherence to regulatory requirements, quality standards, and evidence-based practice. Assessment & Diagnosis Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and medical evaluations of patients with acute, chronic, and complex behavioral health conditions. Assess for urgent and emergent conditions and identify physiologic instability. Utilize clinical findings and diagnostic data to develop evidence-based treatment plans. Clinical Interventions Provide therapeutic and diagnostic interventions within approved credentialing and scope of practice. Manage psychiatric and co-occurring medical conditions in collaboration with psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members. Analyze risks, benefits, and outcomes of treatment interventions and adjust care accordingly. Plan of Care Develop, implement, monitor, and modify individualized treatment plans. Manage changes in patient condition with a focus on improving clinical outcomes. Facilitate safe transitions of care within and between healthcare settings. Promote health maintenance, injury prevention, and recovery-oriented care. Nurse Practitioner - Bone Marrow Transplant / Cell Therapy Department: Cellular Therapy / Bone Marrow Transplant Schedule: Full-Time Location: University Medical Center – New Orleans About the Opportunity We are expanding our advanced oncology services with the development of a comprehensive Cellular Therapy and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program—a critical step in strengthening our institutional readiness for National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation. As a key clinical leader in this growth, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) will play an essential role in building the clinical infrastructure, patient care continuity, and multidisciplinary coordination required for a mature academic cancer program. High-quality hematopoietic stem cell transplantation services are a cornerstone of NCI‑designated cancer centers. This role directly supports program excellence by ensuring continuity of care, strengthening clinical depth, and advancing the patient experience across the entire transplant journey. Role Summary The Nurse Practitioner will serve as a dedicated provider within the Cellular Therapy/BMT service line, delivering highly specialized care across a complex continuum—from pre‑transplant evaluation through long‑term survivorship. The NP will collaborate closely with transplant physicians, infusion teams, research staff, and multidisciplinary clinical partners to ensure safe, coordinated, and evidence‑based care for all BMT and cellular therapy patients. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive outpatient care to patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy. Conduct pre‑transplant evaluations, manage post‑transplant follow‑up, and monitor for both acute and long‑term complications. Support donor coordination, patient education, and care navigation in partnership with the transplant team. Manage chronic graft‑versus‑host disease, immunosuppression protocols, infectious risk monitoring, and survivorship plans. Collaborate with inpatient teams to ensure seamless transitions of care. Participate in care pathways, quality initiatives, and clinical protocols that support program growth and NCI‑aligned standards. Work collaboratively with research and clinical trial teams to support translational and cellular therapy initiatives. Provide ongoing patient and family education to enhance understanding, preparedness, and engagement throughout the transplant process. Maintain meticulous clinical documentation and adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards. Qualifications Required: Master’s or Doctoral degree as a Nurse Practitioner. Active Louisiana APRN license (or eligibility). Registered Nursing License (RN) from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in hematology/oncology, transplant medicine, or another high‑acuity specialty. Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team in a complex clinical environment. Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from American Heart Association Preferred: Prior experience in bone marrow transplant, cellular therapy, or immunotherapy. Oncology or Acute Care NP certification. Experience in academic medical centers or programs with strong research integration.
