Role Overview

  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to oncology patients and families throughout the diagnostic imaging experience.
  • Collaborate closely with radiologists, technologists, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Manage a caseload of patients undergoing a variety of radiologic procedures and diagnostic examinations.
  • Cross-train to all diagnostic radiologic modalities (CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Eco-cardiography, etc.)
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and identify patient-specific needs before, during, and after imaging procedures.
  • Deliver patient and family education, including preparation for diagnostic testing, treatment expectations, and symptom management.
  • Monitor patients throughout procedures and intervene appropriately to promote safety, comfort, and clinical excellence.
  • Support continuity of care by coordinating with oncology teams across various stages of treatment and follow-up.
  • Assist with intravenous access, medication administration, and other nursing interventions as required for diagnostic imaging procedures.

Key Qualifications

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Minimum of 1.5 – 2 years of relevant clinical nursing experience required.
  • Oncology nursing experience preferred.
  • Radiology nursing experience and demonstrated IV therapy skills preferred.
  • BCLS certification required; ACLS and national nursing certification preferred.
