Weekday On-Call Caregiver

Embark Care is hiring an experienced, dependable Weekday On-Call Caregiver to assist with last-minute staffing needs throughout our service area. This position is ideal for an experienced caregiver who enjoys variety, can adapt to changing schedules, and wants the security of guaranteed weekly pay!

Pay & Benefits

• Guaranteed minimum of $560 gross per week (40 hours at $14/hour), even if fewer than 40 hours of assignments are scheduled

• $14/hour Minimum for regular caregiver assignments

• Overtime pay for hours actually worked over 40 in a workweek, when applicable

Live-in assignments may also be required and are compensated at a separate hourly rate. Applicable pay details will be reviewed with candidates.

How does the weekly guarantee work?

As long as you meet the on-call requirements, you're guaranteed a minimum of $560 in gross weekly pay, even if you work fewer than 40 hours.

For example:

• 16 hours worked: You still receive $560 gross for the week.

• 40 hours worked: You receive $560 gross for the week.

• 45 hours worked: At the regular $14/hour rate, your gross pay would be $665, including 5 hours of overtime at $21/hour.

The weekly guarantee is not an additional payment on top of regular hourly earnings.

Schedule & Availability

Monday at 8:00 AM through Friday at 8:00 PM

This is an on-call position, not a traditional fixed-schedule caregiver assignment.

You must be willing and available to accept assignments throughout your designated on-call period, including short-notice and varying shift assignments.

Position expectations include:

• Remain available for assignments during the entire weekday on-call period

• Return calls from the office within 15 minutes

• Report to assigned cases within the timeframe provided by the office

• Be flexible with changing assignments, locations, and client care needs

• Attend required staff meetings

• Follow agency policies and communication procedures

Failure to meet on-call availability requirements, including missed or refused assignments, may affect eligibility for the guaranteed weekly pay, subject to applicable wage-and-hour requirements.

Job Responsibilities

As an on-call caregiver, you may be assigned to:

• Provide hands-on personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance

• Assist clients with transfers and approved lift equipment

• Provide dementia and memory care support

• Assist with meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship, and other daily living activities

• Cover last-minute caregiver absences and emergency staffing needs

• Complete client wellness visits as assigned

• Assist with caregiver introductions and initial home visits

• Deliver or retrieve paperwork and other agency materials

• Assist administrative staff with office tasks as needed

• Perform other duties within your qualifications and agency guidelines

Required Qualifications

Applicants MUST have previous verifiable caregiving experience, including:

• Hands-on personal care experience

• Experience assisting with transfers using lift equipment

• Dementia/memory care experience

• Valid driver's license

• Current auto insurance

• Reliable transportation to and from the office

• Ability to travel to different client locations as assigned

• Strong communication skills, flexibility, and dependability

Company Vehicle

A company vehicle and gas card are provided for authorized agency assignments.

Caregivers must practice safe driving and return the company vehicle to the office at the conclusion of their scheduled assignments. After-hours returns must follow agency procedures, including securing the vehicle and placing the keys in the designated drop box.
