Description

Maine Medical Center

Nursing

Req #: 98226

This is a bargaining unit position

Job Posting Date: 10/27/2026

This is a Clinical Nurse II vacancy open to RNs with at least one year of RN work experience.

R6 is a dynamic 24-bed neurosurgical / trauma unit with an embedded 9-bed neuro-focused Intermediate Care Unit (IMC). Bean 2 is a fast-paced 12-bed Total Joint Center. This position offers the R6/B2 RN an opportunity to care for a diverse patient population in a supportive environment as an integral member of a collaborative team of highly trained staff.

The R6 patient population includes adults and older adolescents with neurological and orthopedic conditions including closed head injuries, strokes, brain tumors, seizure disorders, multi-traumas, and conditions requiring neurosurgical intervention. This unit serves as the Joint Center for our nationally recognized and Joint Commission accredited joint replacement program. The RN on Bean 2 coordinates important milestones of care for each patient’s visit to facilitate a timely and safe discharge. This unit sees a high turnover of patients and consistently receives exceptional patient satisfaction scores.

R6/IMC/B2 offers a challenging yet rewarding environment where teamwork, excellent communication, a positive attitude, and a proactive approach to provision of care is expected. As a teaching unit with frequent student rotations, this collaborative learning environment welcomes new graduate RNs and other learners excited to be part of this supportive team. The compassionate Nurses, Patient Care Technicians, and CNAs on R6/IMC/B2 work closely to support each other in meeting patients’ needs and ensuring the highest standards of care are met.

This is a full time night shift opportunity, consisting of 3, 12 hour shifts per week.
