Job Responsibilities

Prepares residents for and assist with examinations or treatments; e valuates resident’s condition and notifies doctor, medical, or therapy personnel when necessary. Monitors resident outcomes or effectiveness of care and treatment regimes, and communicates complex information to the care planning team, Nurse Coordinator, Director of Nursing, or appropriate personnel. Writes annual nursing assessments and monthly summaries, mentors and oversees less skilled nursing staff and participates in new employee orientation as well as NH Veteran’s Home Nursing Policy and Procedure meetings. Observes, records, and reports signs, symptoms and progress of residents’ medical treatment and care plans utilizing the facility’s documentation system and makes recommendations concerning changes or modifications of treatment as needed to appropriate medical personnel. Ensures compliance with established department policies and procedures by maintaining competency in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques.
